This was my first nude shoot actually, shot by one of my favorite people to work with, Chi/Rue99. The red/blue stuff is candle wax, not paint. It was hot. It was a little painful. But Chi had a special technique for melting the wax without making it scalding

Absolutely beautiful, I love how the wax looks against your skin. Just out of curiosity, how would you describe the pain of it? It would be nice to have something to compare it to though something like "just slightly over the line between discomfort and pain" is good enough.
Not really, the "special technique" used means that the wax just needed to be heated to it's melting temperature which is less (often times quite a bit less) than what it would be if you had just used the candles themselves. That way it just stings a little bit.
It also means you can use pretty much whatever candles would look the best without worrying about how hot they burn (as some, especially beeswax can cause serious burns).
