Hello everyone!

And happy 2012. I hope your new year is off to a splendid start. As stated in the title, this is my first ever journal entry. Despite having this account for 2 years and other accounts for probably an addition 7 or so before this, I haven't really been as active as I'd like to be here on DA. I only recently got around to updating my gallery and adding photos from the last year of shoots; Something I hope to keep up with more actively in the future. I was also informed about an hour ago that I received a Daily Deviation for my photo Candle Wax, shot by Rue99. Wow! What a great surprise to be greeted with this morning. Especially considering that last few days have been not-so-great for me and on top of it all I'm pretty sick. So thank you to quietchildae and everyone who has viewed, commented, and fav'd! You've really raised my spirits this morning!

Best wishes,
<3 Raven Le Faye

Personal Quote: "my furry coat keeps me grounded in reality"

"The symbolic meaning of the Raven in Native American Indian lore describes the raven as a creature of metamorphosis, and symbolizes change/transformation.

Raven symbolizes the void - the mystery of the unknown. Ravens are symbolic of the Black Hole in Space, which draws in all energy toward itself and releases it in new forms. The iridescent blue and green that can be seen in the glossy black feathers of the raven represents the constant change of forms and shapes that emerge from the vast blackness of the void."

"Raven is also the totem of the pan-Celtic Sorceress/Goddess Morgan le Faye, who was also called the Queen of Faeries. A shape shifter, she would often appear as a raven or hooded crow.
As a spirit guide, Morgan places obstacles in our path in order to draw the best from us; testing our ability to cope with awkward situations, and showing us how to find inner strength. She guides us through the complexities of life, never once trying to delude us into thinking that everything is straightforward. She helps us understand something of the nature of the universe, and empowers an individual to confront challenges with great personal strength.”

Hey, how are you doing? I haven't seen anything from you in months, and I wanted to make sure you were okay. I understand that you post more regularly on facebook, but I've found your best work to be here and I'd love to see you post pictures again.
Haven't seen your work here in a long time and was worried you might be sick or something. Hope you're OK.

I noticed you're a bay area resident! I think you might be interested in viewing a short documentary I made about art and violence in Oakland! I hope you share it with anyone that can resonate with it's message.…
